Dan Aykroyd is a Canadian actor, comedian, screenwriter, and entrepreneur. He is best known for his iconic role as Ray Stantz in the Ghostbusters franchise and his memorable performances in countless other films. Aykroyd has also enjoyed success as a musician, writer, and businessman.
Born in Ottawa, Canada, in 1952, Aykroyd began his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 1970s. He joined the cast of 'Saturday Night Live' in 1975, where he showcased his comedic talents and created memorable characters such as Yortuk Festrunk, Beldar Conehead, and Elwood Blues. Aykroyd's film breakthrough came with the 1984 comedy classic 'Ghostbusters,' which he co-wrote and starred in alongside Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson.
