Hans Vestberg Short biography
Hans Vestberg is a Swedish businessman who has served as the CEO of Verizon Communications since 2018. He previously served as the CEO of Ericsson from 2010 to 2015. Vestberg began his career at Ericsson in 1991 and held various management roles in Sweden, China, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. He was named CEO of Ericsson in 2010, becoming the first person without an engineering background to lead the company. Vestberg oversaw Ericsson's expansion into new markets and the development of new technologies, such as 5G. He was ousted as CEO in 2015 following Ericsson's poor financial performance. Vestberg joined Verizon in 2017 as the company's chief technology officer and executive vice president of its network and technology team. He was named CEO of Verizon in 2018.
