Lisa Su Short biography
Lisa Su is a Taiwanese-born American business executive and electrical engineer who is the president, chief executive officer and chair of AMD. She is the first woman to lead a major semiconductor company and has been credited with turning AMD around from a struggling company to a major player in the industry. Su is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a PhD in electrical engineering. She began her career at Texas Instruments and IBM before joining AMD in 2012. She was appointed CEO in 2014.
Under Su's leadership, AMD has seen its stock price increase by over 1,000%. She has also overseen the development of new products, such as the Ryzen line of processors, which have helped AMD regain market share from Intel. Su is a highly respected figure in the tech industry and has been named one of the world's most powerful women by Fortune magazine.
