Warren East Short biography
David Warren Arthur East (born 27 October 1961) is a British businessman and engineer. He is a former chief executive officer (CEO) of Rolls-Royce Holdings, a leading UK-based engine manufacturer, and previously held senior positions at ARM Holdings and Texas Instruments. East is known for his leadership in the technology industry and his contributions to the development of the ARM microprocessor architecture.
East was born in Monmouth, Wales, and studied engineering science at Wadham College, Oxford. He began his career at Texas Instruments in 1983, where he worked for eleven years before joining ARM Holdings in 1994. At ARM, East established the company's consulting business and later became the vice-president of business operations. He was appointed CEO of ARM Holdings in 2001 and led the company through a period of rapid growth. In 2013, East left ARM to become the CEO of Rolls-Royce Holdings.
During his time at Rolls-Royce, East oversaw the company's transition to net zero emissions and its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. He retired from Rolls-Royce at the end of 2022.
