Bill Paxton Short biography
Bill Paxton was an American actor, filmmaker, and musician. He was known for his roles in films such as Aliens, Titanic, and Twister, as well as his starring role in the HBO series Big Love. Paxton also directed and starred in the film Frailty, and co-produced the film Parkland about JFK's assassination.
Paxton was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 17, 1955. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a director but later switched to acting. He studied with famed acting coach Stella Adler before booking a string of notable roles in 80s movies like Weird Science, Aliens, and Near Dark.
Paxton died of a stroke on February 25, 2017, at the age of 61.
