Chiwetel Ejiofor Short biography
Chiwetel Umeadi Ejiofor, CBE (born 10 July 1977) is a British actor, film director, and screenwriter. He is the recipient of various accolades, including a British Academy Film Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award, with nominations for an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and five Golden Globe Awards.
Ejiofor began his career playing Othello in a 1995 stage production of the play. After this, he appeared in the television film Deadly Voyage and Steven Spielberg's historical film Amistad. Since then, Ejiofor has earned acclaim for his performances in such films as Dirty Pretty Things, Kinky Boots, and 12 Years a Slave.
