Norris was born on March 10, 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma. He began his martial arts training in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in South Korea. After his discharge from the Air Force, Norris opened a chain of karate schools and began competing in martial arts tournaments. He won several championships and eventually became a world champion.
In the 1970s, Norris began his acting career. He has starred in over 30 films, including The Way of the Dragon, Good Guys Wear Black, and The Expendables 2. Norris has also starred in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger.
