Lou Diamond Phillips Short biography
Lou Diamond Phillips is a Filipino-American actor, film director, and singer. He is best known for his roles as Ritchie Valens in the biographical drama film La Bamba (1987), Angel Guzman in the inner-city high school drama Stand and Deliver (1988), and Henry Standing Bear in the television series Longmire (2012–2017). Phillips has also appeared in several other films and television shows, including Young Guns (1988), Courage Under Fire (1996), The Big Hit (1998), Brokedown Palace (1999), Che (2008), and The 33 (2015).
In addition to his acting career, Phillips has also directed several films and television shows, including the HBO film Dangerous Touch (1994) and the Syfy series Stargate Universe (2009–2011). He has also written several screenplays, including the Miramax feature Ambition (1996) and the upcoming science fiction novel Tinderbox: Soldier of Indira.
