Mark Simon Cavendish MBE (born May 21, 1985) is a Manx professional road racing cyclist currently competing for UCI WorldTeam Astana Qazaqstan Team. Cavendish is a dual threat, having achieved success in both track and road cycling. As a track specialist, he competes in the madison, points race, and scratch race disciplines. On the road, he reigns supreme as a sprinter. Widely regarded as one of the greatest road sprinters of all time, Cavendish holds the joint record for most Tour de France stage wins (34) alongside cycling legend Eddy Merckx.
