Kenenisa Bekele Beyecha (born June 13, 1982) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. Hailing from Bekoji, a town known for its distance running tradition, Bekele rose to become one of the most dominant athletes in track history. He is particularly celebrated for his achievements in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters races.
