Chris Froome Short biography
Chris Froome is a Kenyan-born British professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Israel–Premier Tech. He has won the Tour de France four times (2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017), the Giro d'Italia once (2018), and the Vuelta a España twice (2011 and 2017). He is the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France, and the first rider since Bernard Hinault in 1983 to hold all three Grand Tour titles simultaneously.
Froome was born in Nairobi, Kenya, to British parents. He moved to South Africa as a teenager and began his cycling career there. He turned professional in 2007 and joined Team Sky in 2010. He made his Grand Tour debut at the 2011 Vuelta a España, where he finished second overall. He won his first Grand Tour at the 2013 Tour de France and has since gone on to win the Tour three more times, the Giro d'Italia once, and the Vuelta a España twice.
