Patrick Mahomes Short biography
Patrick Lavon Mahomes II (born September 17, 1995, in Tyler, Texas) is an American professional quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL). He is widely regarded as one of the most talented quarterbacks of his generation, known for his exceptional improvisational skills and powerful arm strength. Mahomes is biracial; his father, Pat Mahomes Sr., is Black and a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher, while his mother, Randi Martin, is White. Growing up, Patrick excelled in multiple sports—including football, baseball, and basketball—which he credits with enhancing his quarterback skills. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB draft but chose to attend Texas Tech University, where he ultimately focused solely on football.
