Colin Zheng Huang Short biography
Colin Zheng Huang born January 1, 1980, is a Chinese businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder and former CEO of the e-commerce company Pinduoduo, which is now the largest agriculture platform in China. Huang is also the owner of at least three other limited liability Cayman companies, including Pinduoduo.
Huang was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. He graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor's degree in computer science in 2002. He then went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a master's degree in computer science in 2004.
After graduating from Wisconsin, Huang worked as a software engineer at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California. He returned to China in 2006 to work on Google China's launch. In 2007, he left Google to start his own company, Ouku.com, an e-commerce site that sold consumer electronics and mobile phones. Ouku.com was not successful, and Huang shut it down in 2010.
