Ted Turner Short biography
Ted Turner is an American entrepreneur, television producer, media proprietor, and philanthropist. He is best known as the founder of CNN, the first 24-hour cable news channel, and WTBS, which pioneered the superstation concept in cable television. Turner has also been involved in professional wrestling, owning and operating World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1988 to 2001. He is a noted philanthropist, having donated $1 billion to create the United Nations Foundation, a public charity to broaden U.S. support for the UN.
