Cyril Ramaphosa Short biography
Cyril Ramaphosa is a South African politician, businessman, trade union leader, and anti-apartheid activist who has served as the fifth and current president of South Africa since 2018. He is also the president of the African National Congress (ANC). He played a key role in the negotiations that ended apartheid and was elected to Parliament in 1994. Ramaphosa resigned from politics in 1996 to pursue a business career, but returned in 2012. He was elected president of the ANC in 2017 and became president of South Africa the following year.
