Larry Page Short biography
Lawrence Edward Page, born March 26, 1973, is an American computer scientist, philanthropist, and internet entrepreneur who co-founded Google with Sergey Brin. Page served as CEO of Google from 1997 to 2004, again from 2011 to 2015, and as CEO of Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company, from 2015 to 2019.
Page was born in East Lansing, Michigan, to Carl Victor Page Sr., a computer science professor at Michigan State University, and Gloria Page, a computer programming instructor. He showed an early interest in computers and technology, and he began programming at the age of six.
Page attended the University of Michigan, where he received a bachelor's degree in computer science in 1995. He then went on to Stanford University, where he met Sergey Brin.
In 1996, Page and Brin co-founded Google in a garage in Menlo Park, California. The company's search engine quickly became one of the most popular in the world, and Google has since expanded into a wide range of other businesses, including advertising, cloud computing, and self-driving cars.
Page is known for his visionary leadership and his ability to think outside the box. He has been recognized for his contributions to technology with numerous awards, including the Marconi Prize in 2004, the National Medal of Technology in 2012, and the Prince of Asturias Award in 2015.
