Kate Hudson is an American actress, film producer, and entrepreneur. She is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian, and musician.
Hudson began her acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in small roles in films such as Desert Blue (1998) and 200 Cigarettes (1999). Her breakthrough role came in 2000, when she played Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical dramedy Almost Famous. For her performance, she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for an Academy Award in the same category.
Since then, Hudson has starred in a number of successful films, including How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Raising Helen (2004), You, Me and Dupree (2006), Fool's Gold (2008), Bride Wars (2009), and Nine (2009). She has also appeared in independent films such as The Killer Inside Me (2010) and Something Borrowed (2011), and had a recurring role on the Fox teen comedy series Glee (2012-2013).
In addition to her acting career, Hudson is also a successful entrepreneur. In 2013, she co-founded the activewear company Fabletics, which has become a multi-million dollar business.
