Charles Koch Short biography
Charles Koch is an American billionaire businessman, industrialist, and philanthropist. He is the co-owner and chairman of the board of Koch Industries, one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Koch is known for his libertarian beliefs and his support for free-market economics.
Koch was born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1935. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with degrees in general engineering, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering. After working as a management consultant, he joined his father's company, Rock Island Oil & Refining Company, in 1961. He became CEO of the company in 1967, following his father's death.
Under Koch's leadership, Koch Industries grew significantly, expanding its operations into a wide range of industries. The company is now involved in oil refining, chemicals, fertilizers, polymers, and fibers, among other businesses.
