As of 2023, he is the most-subscribed individual creator on YouTube, with over 130 million subscribers. Donaldson was born on May 7, 1998, in Greenville, North Carolina. He began posting videos to YouTube in 2012, at the age of 13, under the username MrBeast6000. His early content consisted of Let's Plays, challenges, and reaction videos. In 2017, he gained popularity with his video "Counting to 100,000," which earned tens of thousands of views in just a few days. Donaldson's videos became increasingly grand and extravagant, and he eventually hired some of his childhood friends to co-run the brand. As of 2023, the MrBeast team is made up of over 250 people, including Donaldson himself. Donaldson has won numerous awards for his work, including the Creator of the Year award at the Streamy Awards in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. He has also been nominated for several Kids' Choice Awards and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
