David Karp Short biography
David Karp is an American entrepreneur, programmer, and blogger. He is best known as the founder and former CEO of the short-form blogging platform Tumblr. Karp dropped out of high school at the age of 15 and began working as an intern at the animation company Frederator Studios. He later worked for the online parenting forum UrbanBaby before starting his own software consulting company, Davidville. In 2007, Karp co-founded Tumblr with Marco Arment. The platform quickly gained popularity and was acquired by Yahoo in 2013 for $1.1 billion. Karp remained CEO of Tumblr until 2017. He is known for his innovative approach to technology and his commitment to free expression online.
