Malin Akerman Short biography
Malin Maria Åkerman is a Swedish-Canadian actress, producer, and model born on May 12, 1978, in Stockholm, Sweden. Her family moved to Canada when she was two years old. Her parents divorced four years later, and her father moved back to Sweden. She was raised in Canada and attended several schools, including Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Åkerman began modeling at age 16 after being discovered by Ford Models. She later dropped out of York University to pursue acting full-time and moved to Los Angeles in 2001. She holds citizenship in both Sweden and the United States.
