P.V. Sindhu Short biography
Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (born 5 July 1995) is an Indian professional badminton player. Considered one of India's most successful sportspersons, Sindhu has won medals at various tournaments such as the Olympics, the BWF World Championships, and the Commonwealth Games. She is the first and only Indian to become the badminton world champion and only the second individual athlete from India to win two consecutive medals at the Olympic Games.
Sindhu was born in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, to P. V. Ramana and P. Vijaya. Her parents were both volleyball players at the national level. Sindhu started playing badminton at the age of eight and joined the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy at the age of ten.
Sindhu's career has been one of remarkable success. She has won medals at all the major tournaments in badminton, including the Olympics, the World Championships, and the Commonwealth Games. She is also the first and only Indian to become the badminton world champion.
