Jürgen Klopp Short biography
Jürgen Klopp is a German professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Premier League club Liverpool. Widely regarded as one of the best managers in the world, Klopp is known for his charismatic personality, enthusiastic touchline demeanor, and commitment to attacking football.
Born in Stuttgart, West Germany, Klopp began his playing career with local club SV Glatten before moving to Mainz 05 in 1990. He spent most of his professional career at Mainz, playing as both a striker and a defender. After retiring from playing in 2001, Klopp was appointed as Mainz's manager and led the club to promotion to the Bundesliga in 2004.
In 2008, Klopp was appointed manager of Borussia Dortmund, where he won two Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal, and two DFL-Supercups. He also led Dortmund to the UEFA Champions League final in 2013. In 2015, Klopp was appointed manager of Liverpool, where he has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He has also led Liverpool to two UEFA Champions League finals, winning the trophy in 2019.
