Michael Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials MJ, is an American businessman and former professional basketball player. He is the principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 23XI Racing in NASCAR. He is also a restaurateur and philanthropist.
Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. He played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. He was named NBA Finals MVP each of those six times. He was also a five-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a ten-time scoring champion, and a nine-time NBA All-Defensive First Team member.
Jordan is a global icon. He has been credited with popularizing the game of basketball around the world. He has also been a successful businessman and philanthropist.
