Peter Gabriel Short biography
Peter Brian Gabriel (born February 13, 1950) is a renowned English singer, songwriter, and human rights activist. He initially gained international recognition as the lead singer and flautist of the progressive rock band Genesis, co-founding the group in his teenage years. After departing Genesis in 1975, he embarked on a prolific solo career, achieving immense critical and commercial success.
Beyond music, Gabriel is a champion of world music, co-founding the WOMAD festival and promoting the genre through his record label, Real World Records. He is also a pioneer in digital music distribution and a dedicated advocate for human rights, founding the Witness organization.
